DATA PROMPT group develops two different types of activities divided into two distinct but complementary entities. One of these companies, know under the name Data Prompt Services (DPS) is a consultancy firm working for institutions such as local authorities or French leading utility group for Energy distribution EDF. Data Prompt Technologies (DPtech) focuses its activities around CAD software development and distribution. The IntelliPlus® range marketed by DPtech is powered by the IntelliCAD® technology and offers low cost alternatives to AutoCAD, the most widely used application for CAD in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. This fundamental link between the two companies brings to Data Prompt Technologies, an incomparable experience and a perfect knowledge concerning real needs in CAD among professionals. Besides, many exclusive features incorporated in the IntelliPlus range come from needs specifically studied within the context of special developments realized to enhance the productivity of AutoCAD in companies such as ADP (Paris airports), Vivendi Group, and the French Ministry of Equipment and Housing.
January 2001: Creation of Data Prompt
At
that time, both activities are carried out in one entity. The CAD applications
development activity is focused around services and add-ons for AutoCAD
users to improve the productivity of both the consultancy firm and customers
including major key accounts.
March 2001: Highly concerned about reducing the computing costs in the consultancy firm, and willing to keep the highest productivity and compatibility with the DWG files, DPtech refocuses its programs around the IntelliCAD® technology, and launches the IntelliJET® range in a variety of forms with IntelliJET Premium, IntelliJET Pro, IntelliJET Optimum. Rapidly, this technological choice proved to be in total appropriateness with the functional needs, but more precisely with the global economy of both the consultancy firm and the customers. At the same time, DPtech was starting up a marketing strategy concerning its technologies.
July 2001: French Ministry for Equipment and Housing starts to consider the opportunity to use the IntelliJET range as a low cost alternative and some of its local organizations adopt this solution.
February 2002: Signing of a technological agreement with the company MHJL IntelliFrance (also member of the Consortium IntelliCAD), which allowed to get into a new and powerful functional area thanks to the launching of the Intellidesk® range. Later, this range was progressively replaced with a successfully completed technology, in other words, the actual range IntelliPlus, firstly divided into two versions, IntelliPlus Premium and IntelliPlus Pro. The add-ons, initially developed in AutoCAD® environment, are from now on, directly integrated in the IntelliPlus Programs.
March 2002: Democratization and accessibility are two crucial words in Data Prompt Technologies vocabulary. In that way, we thought that after breaking new ground in the field of prices, we also had to think about widening our capacity of distribution attracting the interest of a great majority of people: professionals but also private individuals, considering that these two different kinds of populations happen to meet each other necessarily around common projects and have to use the same standards. This principle brought DPtech to sign a contract concerning the editing of some of its technologies, with the fourth editor in Europe, Micro Application, to create lighter versions of the IntelliPlus range. Launched in French speaking countries by Micro Application, but after by other partners on their markets, under the brands JetCAD or PCCAD, these software are a lower-end range representing a first level of performance for professionals or particulars. Widely distributed in Distribution stores and Specialized stores this range offers to DPtech the possibility to penetrate quickly the market and sell upgrades to its IntelliPlus range and services. Similar deals are now signed in the Benelux with a Dutch version and in Australia with an English one while others are taking place on other major markets such as the USA, Germany, the United Kingdom and the South American countries.
June 2002: Signing
of a contract for edition and distribution in the Benelux with Easy Computing,
aiming at the realization of programs in Dutch language, already edited
on the French, the Belgian and the Swiss markets by Micro Application.
December 2002: DPtech becomes a full member of the ITC, IntelliCAD® Technology Consortium, and launches IntelliPlus® Premium and Pro, at the beginning of 2003.
August 2003: DPtech launches IntelliPlus® PDF, a new application targeted to users needing to use DWG drawings without needing to modify or create them. Primarily launched to come up to the needs of the local authorities, this software is now highly appreciated by other professionals from managers needing to use the technical information concentrated in the DWG drawings to salesmen.
February 2004: The CSTB, French institution for research, advanced engineering, quality assessment and dissemination of knowledge in the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, becomes a major distributor of the IntelliPlus range.
DPtech enters into a stategic union in Australia and New Zealand, for the diffusion of its technologies.
March 2004: Wicona, a Hydro Building Systems group company, which happens to be one of the leading suppliers of aluminum building systems approves the IntelliPlus range as a low-cost alternative for its customers and enters in a technical co-operation operation.
April
2004:
DPtech
decides to go one step further in its strategy to answer the needs of
the nearly 50% of professionals needing CAD software and still having
very little access to these must-have technologies due to high prices
carried on by a monopolistic situation. From now on, DPtech claims for
the « democratization » of CAD software with products that
can easily be compared to « generics » of the most widely
used application and which prices are from 5 to 10 times cheaper.
DPtech decides to reduce the price of the IntelliPlus range by more than
50% and a new product, IntelliPlus Standard is launched.
